Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2026

Unearth stories this summer for a chance at prizes! There are two ways to participate in this summer’s reading challenge – you can do one or both!

The Summer Reading Challenge runs June 15 – August 9.  Here’s how to participate:

Challenge #1: Read 60 minutes a week.

  • What counts? Books, audiobooks, magazines, newspaper — anything you like!
  • Fill out a paper entry form to be entered into a weekly prize drawing AND be entered in the Grand Prize Drawing.
  • Weekly prizes are a $25 gift certificate to a local business of your choice OR a Jeanes Library tote bag. The Grand Prize is your choice of a family membership to the Morris Arboretum, the Academy of Natural Sciences, or a $150 gift certificate to a local business of your choice.
  • One entry per person per week.

Challenge #2: Go on a scavenger hunt!

  • Pick up the list of activities; complete the hunt to win a small prize AND be entered into a smaller grand prize drawing. Activities are a mix of in-person at the library, on a computer, or from home.
  • When you turn in a completed scavenger hunt, you will receive TWO raffle tickets. You may use your two tickets however you choose: enter one ticket in each drawing, or place both tickets into either the Grand Prize drawing or the Scavenger Hunt grand prize drawing.
  • The Scavenger hunt grand prize is a $50 gift certificate to a local business of your choice OR a Jeanes Library tote bag with a $25 gift certificate.
  • One entry per person for the summer.

NO online option. Paper ONLY. The weekly drawing will be pulled on Monday. Prizes will be available for pickup at the Library (no shipping).

    • Winners of weekly raffle drawings and grand prize raffle drawing will be notified by phone or email.
