Book Donations

The Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library collect books and DVDs only most of the year, for their on-going Book Boutiques and twice yearly Book Sales. Library staff also review the donations for replacements or additions to the Library’s Collection.

Donations are accepted during our open hours, on designated carts inside each entrance (upstairs and down.) Please do not leave book donations outside, on the ground, or in the outside book return slot.

About 3 weeks prior to the spring and fall sales, the Friends ask that donations cease while they organize for the sales. These dates are posted at each entrance, and over each donation cart.

All donations are tax deductible. Receipts are available at the book donation drop off carts located at both the upper and lower levels.

Please note: Library staff are not able to help you bring your donations inside. Please arrange to have someone accompany you if necessary, and we are happy to find an empty cart for you.

If you are donating more than 10 boxes, we ask you to contact the Friends via their email (wjmlfriends@gmail.com), to ensure their ability to accept a large donation.

Please refrain from donating textbooks, magazines, encyclopedias, and any books that are in poor condition (ripped pages, dusty, moldy, yellowed, etc.)

Book sale proceeds enable the Friends to support enhanced Library programs and services. Thank you for your support!
