How the Adult Winter Reading Challenge works:

DATES: JANUARY 12 – MARCH 8

This challenge is PAPER ONLY. There is no online challenge.

Challenge yourself in the New Year! Stop by the Library to pick up your personal checkout card with 12 challenges to complete.

Every time you complete a challenge, stop by the circulation desk to get your card punched. When you complete 3 challenges, your card will be stamped, and you’ll get a Grand Prize entry. For each additional 3 challenges completed, you’ll get another Grand Prize entry.

Overachiever? Punch all 12 challenges and get an bonus Grand Prize entry! That’s a total of FIVE Grand Prize entries.

GRAND PRIZE: Family membership to the Philadelphia Zoo; $150 gift card to a local business of your choice; OR a new e-reader (Kindle or Nook).

Challenges:

  • Check out an e-book or e-audiobook on Libby.
  • Check out a cookbook.
  • Check out an item from the Library of Things.
  • Read a book by an African-American author.
  • Read a book about the American Revolution.
  • Read a WJML book club pick.
  • Read a novella.
  • Read a staff pick.
  • Read a translated book.
  • Read a book about an immigrant experience.
  • Read an award-winner.
  • Write a review.
