YAB (Youth Advisory Board)

The library’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is a group of teens in grades 6-12 who create, plan, and implement programs for the William Jeanes Memorial Library. They meet the first Friday of the month, from 4:00-5:30pm. The YAB  volunteers their time for community service projects in the library as well.

Here is a list of just some of the amazing programs that the YAB has hosted!

Teens:

Annual Murder Mystery Party

Trivia Nights

Improv Night

Anti-Valentine’s Day

Winter Potluck Party

Harry Potter Night

Children:

Escape Rooms

Learn Animal Origami

DIY Slime

Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt

Storytimes (Frozen, Dragons Love Tacos, Black History Month, etc.)

The YAB is always open to new members. If you are interested in learning more or joining, please contact Eileen Denton, Youth Services Librarian at edenton@mclinc.org

Fight for your freedom to READ!

Visit the Banned Books displays in the Adult NEW and Teen sections, and check out a title that has been challenged in the past few years, according to the American Library Association. Their complete list is HERE.
