2026 Children’s Winter Reading Challenge

Children from birth through 5th grade are invited to escape the winter blues through reading!

Reading can be a great escape! Books and stories can transport you to a completely different place. And as you read you might discover new things, ideas, and perspectives along the way. You may even learn more about yourself. Log your reading throughout the challenge to earn badges while you journey into exciting, new worlds. Find your escape today!

For every hour you read (up to 16 hours), you’ll earn a digital badge, a free book, and an entry into the Grand Prize drawing.

When you log your reading and earn badges, your raffle entries will be automatically added to the Grand Prize drawing, and you can come to the Children’s Library to choose your free book!

If you REALLY want to stretch yourself, you can earn TEN BONUS raffle entries by reading a total of 24 hours during the 8 weeks of the challenge.

The Grand Prize drawing will be held on Monday, March 9th, and the winner will be invited to choose from a variety of prizes. Click here to view the options!
