Dear Library Supporter,

The William Jeanes Memorial Library and Nicholas and Athena Karabots Center for Learning proudly celebrated our 90th year by becoming a Gold Star ⭐ Library! This prestigious recognition from the Pennsylvania Library Association highlights our commitment to excellence in moving the community forward through the development of a literate citizenship.

 

We are very proud of this achievement, because we deeply believe in the transformative power of knowledge. Our award-winning Library serves as a vital center for you and your neighbors, offering a wide range of educational programs for patrons of all ages, as well as access to an extensive collection of reading, listening, and viewing materials, and many other essential services.

We are gratified to receive much of our support from Whitemarsh Township. However, like many non-profit organizations, we continue to face financial challenges. Unanticipated and significant building expenses this year limited our ability to maintain and expand the Library’s many valuable offerings.

Your past support has played a significant role in helping us update our technology, modernize furnishings and equipment, and provide new, interesting, and relevant patron services. As we continue to meet your Library needs, we rely on your continued generosity to sustain and grow these initiatives. Your donation will provide direct impact by:

⭐Expanding our collection: Ensuring access to a wide range of books and materials for all ages and interests. Demand is high after the pandemic, as more patrons discover new authors and place requests for popular titles.

⭐Enhancing technology: Upgrading our circulating devices to meet the increasing digital needs of our patrons. We help patrons access the current bestsellers in new formats, teach them the latest apps, and provide free wi-fi access and mobile printing when you need it!

⭐Supporting educational programs: Providing learning opportunities and connections for children, teens, and adults through workshops and lectures. This summer children were exposed to art from other countries, teens learned to express themselves through writing, and adults attended unique history lectures and book clubs.

⭐Maintaining our facilities: Keeping our library safe, comfortable, and accessible for everyone. Your past donations have added more seating outside, replaced aging furniture in the Children’s Library, and increased the number of tables for study and work.
