Teen Cafe – Zine Making Workshop

Monday, September 16, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EDT

Teens in grades 6-12 invited to the Community Room for a weekly activity, conversation and snacks!

No need to register; just stop by between 6-7:30.

This week we’ll be making zines, led by Robin Gow (it/fae/he & él y elle).  For decades communities have used zines (mini self-published magazines) as a space for sharing political ideas, personal stories, and imaging expansive futures. In this workshop we’ll learn a little bit about the queer history of zines and then make our own zines!

Robin Gow (it/fae/he & él y elle) is a poet, educator, and witch. It grew up in rural Pennsylvania and lives with his queer family on unceded Lenape land also called Allentown Pennsylvania.

Awarded the Jerry Cain and Scott James Creative Writing Fellow, Gow earned faer MFA in Creative Writing from Adelphi University where fae also taught as a professor of English.

He is an autistic bisexual genderqueer person passionate about queer and disability justice.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of William Jeanes Memorial Library.
