Dinosaur Adventure Show

Wednesday, August 7, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm EDT

Children ages 6 and older, accompanied by a caregiver/parent, are invited to join us in welcoming real-life field paleontologists, Mike & Roberta Straka, for an exciting dinosaur adventure!

Finding a dinosaur may be accomplished by one person, but getting a dinosaur out of the ground is always a team effort. The Strakas will showcase all the different skills that come together on a paleontological dig, and audience members will get to experience the thrill of digging up a piece of a real dinosaur bone (but not to keep and take home, sorry!).

In addition, the show will feature the complete 8-foot skull of Mr. Nixon the triceratops, discovered by the Strakas in 1996.

This fun, educational, exciting adventure will include audience participation, a touch of magic, and show & tell with rare fossils. As an added bonus, the Strakas will set up a “mini museum” featuring photos and inerals from their summer digs in South Dakota.

Sponsored by the Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library.
