Join Ms. Rachel in the Community Room a special program featuring picture books full of positive LGBTQ+ representation of children, adults, and families of all kinds.
These books aren’t just for those with one or more LGBTQ+ family members, they are for everyone! Libraries are champions of diversity, curiosity, lifelong learning, and intellectual freedom, and we offer families the opportunity to freely explore the entirety of the world in which we live. Rainbow Reads allows us to exercise these principles while also destigmatizing and celebrating LGBTQ+ experiences through the pages of high-quality picture books. Families with LGBTQ+ members will see themselves reflected in the pages of these books, while others will develop understanding and connection. Together, we’ll see the various forms of creativity, style, and expression people have, and we’ll learn to love and celebrate ourselves and others.
Our time together will include one or more picture books, discussion, and one or more activities. Books and activities will be geared towards school-aged children, but families with children ages 3 and up may also enjoy this program depending on their attention span. You’re welcome to join us and see how it goes!
Registration is required.

All programs and meetings are canceled, and nothing will be due. Please do not leave any Library materials outside or on the ground.
At present, the Springfield Library will also be closed on Sunday.
