Families with children between the ages of 4- and 8-years-old are invited to join Ms. Rachel for a reading of a picture book adaptation of The Secret Garden by Calista Brill. This event is in conjunction with Longwood Gardens’ Community Read initiative, a collaborative effort between the Gardens and community to encourage reading for pleasure and to start a conversation surrounding gardens, plants, or nature.

After enjoying the book, we will create “nature notebooks” which we will take outside (weather permitting) to observe, reflect, and record things we discover in the natural world on the Library grounds. This is a program for the entire family to enjoy together (not a drop-off event). At least one child must be between the ages of 4- and 8-years-old, but older and younger siblings are welcome!
