Honey is well known as a sweetener, but its medicinal properties are less well known.  Learn how and why honey is made by honey bees. Honey is not just derived from plant sources, but also has components added by the bees — this complexity leads to an exploration of the several medicinal applications for which honey is used, including two honey-containing products actually approved as medicines by the FDA.
