Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library Board meeting

Thursday, November 10, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST

The Friends’ Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month, at 7:00 pm. The Friends’ Board does not meet in July or August.

As of October 2022, the meetings will be in the Board Room, and hybrid via Zoom. Please contact the Friends at friendswmjeanesmemoriallibrary@gmail.com for more info and a Zoom invite.

The Friends bookplate and logo, as designed by local artist Martha Maulsby Hovenden (1884-1941), a member of the Corson Family, and daughter of renowned artists Thomas Hovenden (1840-1895) & Helen Corson Hovenden (1847-1935). Except for trips abroad and a brief stay with relatives in Washington, DC, Martha Hovenden resided in the white stucco house, known as the Hovenden House, at the corner of Butler and Germantown Pikes, in the village of Plymouth Meeting. Following the example of her parents, she used Abolition Hall, constructed by her grandfather, George Corson, as her studio. Both the Hovenden House and Abolition Hall are individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Plymouth Meeting was Pennsylvania’s first National Historic Register district (1971).

Please visit the Friends’ page for more information, a membership application, and contact info.

NO PUBLIC COMPUTERS This Weekend

Due to a software issue, the public computers will be out of service all weekend.

However, you will still have access to wi-fi, copying, scanning, and mobile printing.

This is WJM-specific, and does not affect our neighboring libraries, if you need to use a public computer.

Thank you for your patience!
