Guests from Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, Inc. will provide positive, health-based tools and messages about bodies and boundaries for children ages 3-8. Children will learn the proper terms for parts of their bodies, including genitals, to understand that their bodies are good and special. They will also learn the value of asking for permission before touching someone and respectfully accepting the person’s answer. Children are receptive to learning about body parts, health, and boundaries, making this an ideal time to lay the foundation for abuse prevention. When we teach children the language that helps them understand the world, we empower them, protect them, and we foster positive body image and a healthy respect for bodies. We will read The Bare Naked Book by Kathy Stinson and complete an activity before ending our event with the book C is for Consent by Eleanor Morrison. Caregivers will gain tools and resources to continue safety conversations at home and as their child grows.
Registration required.
