Kids in grades 5-8, discover the world of coding with Python!
CodeJumbo is excited to invite students in grades 5-8 to an engaging and educational program where they will dive into the fascinating world of coding and Python programming. This workshop is designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds through hands-on activities and interactive projects. This program is geared towards children with little to no coding experience.
The following topics will be covered in this one-hour, ONLINE workshop:
- What is Coding? Understand the basic concept of coding through examples. Coding is a valuable skill that fosters problem-solving and logical thinking.
- What is Python Programming? Introduce kids to a new beginner-friendly programming language—Python programming—through live examples and projects. Python is widely used in various industries, including web development, data science, and artificial intelligence, making it a great starting point for aspiring coders.
- Explore Turtle Programming Techniques: Participants will get hands-on experience with Turtle, a Python library that introduces basic programming concepts through visual storytelling and graphics. They’ll create a fun live project, bringing their code to life with colorful designs.
- Do a Quiz and Win Prizes: Test your knowledge with a fun quiz! Participants will have the chance to win exciting prizes, adding an element of competition and enjoyment to the learning experience.
- Fun Assignments to Do Offline: Keep the momentum going with engaging assignments that can be completed offline. These activities will reinforce learning and provide additional practice for students to hone their skills.
