Summer @ WJN
School’s out and it’s time for learning to be FUN! Summer @ WJN promises to offer your child (babies through 10-year-olds) eight weeks full of reading, fun, learning, and prizes, guaranteed to help prevent that classic “summer slide.” With programs including live animals, reading, music, art, magic, storytelling, movies, theater, magic, and more, there will be no reason for your child to say “I’m bored!” and no reason for you to say “That’s too expensive!” Everything at the library is free and fun! In addition, from Saturday, June 16th through Saturday, August 11th, your child will be rewarded for meeting their own personalized weekly reading goal, for attending exciting events at the library, for learning new things, and for visiting cultural or educational institutions or events (check out free passes from the library from over 30 local organizations)! Weekly prizes will include free books and raffle tickets for other cool items, with a grand prize raffle drawing at the end of the summer for a brand new Kindle Fire HD 10 tablet with Alexa. Summer Reading for Older Kids: “Older kids” is broadly defined as children from about the age of 4 or 5 through children who have finished 4th or 5th grade. Read about both programs to decide which is best for your child.
