AED Fundraiser for the Library
Many of our community members are aware of Simon’s Heart (previously Simon’s Fund), started by a local family. You can read about their organization and mission here: Simonsheart.org
Now a local student has come forward and offered to fundraise on behalf of the Library so that we may have an AED (automated external defibrillator) device on the premises! Lexie Kaiser is a 16 year-old student at William Penn Charter High School who is an Ambassador for Simon’s Heart. She says “All public spaces should have an AED in case of a cardiac emergency. Our library and community deserve this protection. I will be honored to be a part of providing an AED to the library I have used since I was a nursery school child!”
Recently there were two instances of an AED being deployed to save a life in our community. The Library is committed to acquiring and maintaining this life-saving tool for our patrons.
Please consider a donation to Lexie’s fundraising campaign. Donate here: https://www.gotaed.org/product/william-jeanes-library/
and together the William Jeanes Memorial Library will remain a safe and welcoming place for the entire community!
