Tai-chi for Health–Spring 2017 Session

Cost: $30 for the whole session or $10 drop-in
This class is for Beginners as well as Advanced Beginners. We are currently learning the Beginning forms for the universal Yang 24 Forms. Our classes begin with Qigong (the practice to cultivate internal energy) exercises to focus, relax, and cultivate a sense of well-being. We continue with Tai Chi warm up exercises beginning with our neck and moving to our ankles. These forms are excellent for body alignment (proper posture), strength, flexibility, and balance. The beautiful Tai Chi forms are gentle, slow, and continuous which gradually build stamina and coordination. The moves can be as basic or challenging as you wish them to be. We will focus on body awareness, mindfulness, and breathing deeply and fully, all of which help to create confidence in our minds and bodies for every day living.
To get the full benefits that Tai Chi offers it is meant to be practiced daily. DVDs and other learning materials are available to help with at home practice.
As with all new exercise programs, please consult with your doctor. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We request that you refrain from wearing any scents to class.
