Build a Better World: Helping Laurel House

Laurel House, a local non-profit working with survivors of domestic abuse, is in need of gift cards in small amounts. Frequently survivors come to them having lost control of their finances, such as bank accounts and EBT cards. With your contribution we can help them rebuild their financial independence. Laurel House is seeking gift cards to local businesses, such as WaWa, Giant grocery stores, and Target, and the Library is a collection point.

Between now and the end of August you can drop off a gift card to one of those businesses, or take a leaf from our Giving Tree and hand it to the Library staff at either Check-out Desk along with the appropriate amount of money, and we’ll buy the gift cards.

Every contributor will be given a raffle ticket to our Adult Summer Reading contest.

And at the end of the summer we’ll announce to the Community just how much money YOU have raised for this worthy cause!
